By the standards of recent Israeli merger and acquisition deals, the news that the container shipping company Zim is being bought jointly by Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd and the Israeli private fund FIMI was small change – a mere $4.2 billion. By comparison, in a deal approved a week ago by the European Union, Google will pay $32 billion to buy the Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz.
