A month before U.S. President Donald Trump announced the appointment of Yehuda Kaploun, an Israeli-born ultra-Orthodox activist and rabbi, as his special envoy for monitoring and combating antisemitism, a group of consultants approached Israeli cyber company NSO with a proposal: Use their connections in Washington, including with Kaploun, to help remove the company from the U.S. Commerce Department’s blacklist.
