Israeli cabinet increases state budget and deficit, ostensibly to fund Gaza war plan
Israeli ministers voted Tuesday to increase the government budget and deficit, and to implement a 3.35 percent across-the-board cut to most of the state budget starting in 2026, in order to fund the multi-year plan for Gaza and offset the deficits created by the war.
