North Korea fires unidentified projectile into sea: South Korea

North Korea fired an unidentified projectile towards the sea off its eastern coast on Tuesday, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) has said.

The JCS did not give any additional details on the latest launch, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap.

The launch comes ahead of a meeting on Pyongyang between top officials from the United States and South Korea.

The North held a series of missile launches last month, including what it said was a hypersonic missile.
