U.S. pushes U.N. to direct equal in Syria’s easterly Ghouta, Damascus

UNITED NATIONS – The United States pushed a United Nations Security Council on Monday to direct a ceasefire in Damascus and rebel-held eastern Ghouta, where Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s army contend they are targeting “terrorist” groups who are shelling a capital.

The United Nations has described eastern Ghouta as “hell on earth.” The United States circulated a breeze fortitude to a 15-member legislature that final an evident 30-day relinquishment of hostilities and asks U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to “urgently rise proposals for monitoring of doing of a relinquishment of hostilities and any transformation of civilians.”

It was not immediately transparent when a breeze text, seen by Reuters, could be put to a vote.
