India justice hands 7 Muslim group life sentences for killings that sparked 2013 riots

NEW DELHI, Feb 8 – An Indian justice on Friday condemned 7 Muslim group to life in jail for a murder of dual Hindu group in 2013 in a northern state of Uttar Pradesh, an occurrence that had sparked eremite riots murdering about 65 people and displacing thousands.

The riots began in a district of Muzaffarnagar, 130 km (81 miles) northeast of New Delhi, and widespread to other areas in a country’s many populous state months before a 2014 choosing won by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu jingoist party.

A justice in Muzaffarnagar condemned a group after they were found guilty of murdering a dual Hindus in a encampment of Kawal on Aug. 27, 2013, prosecutor Rajeev Sharma told Reuters.

Reuters could not immediately hit a families of a convicted men.

Nearly all a victims of a riots were Muslims, including about 12,000 people who were done temporarily homeless due to a disturbance that polarised western Uttar Pradesh on eremite lines.
