Gmail users report widespread problems, as service appears to suffer outage

A growing number of users around the world were reporting they were not receiving emails on their Gmail accounts on Saturday afternoon.

The service appeared to be experiencing widespread issues, with initial reports of hundreds of thousands of accounts affected.

Since approximately 3 p.m. Israel-time, users were able to send mail as usual, but it was not being received by the intended recipients.

In some cases, when emails reached the Gmail server, rather than accepting the email and delivering it to the user’s inbox, the sending service received the message: “Temporary System Problem. Try again later.”

Gmail had yet to issue an announcement at the time of writing.
