A man was stabbed to death on a Tel Aviv street Tuesday morning in a suspected altercation between two foreign nationals.

The Israel Police said in a statement a suspect in his thirties had been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident. The statement did not identify the nationality of the two men.

Magen David Adom paramedics attempted to resuscitate the unconscious victim, who was found with multiple stab wounds on Hahagana Road in the central metropolis. However, after efforts failed they declared him dead at the scene.

The two men were thought to have shared an apartment in the city, according to Hebrew media reports.

Police were reportedly looking at the possibility that they were drunk at the time of the incident.

Tel Aviv has a large foreign national population bolstered by thousands of African asylum seekers.
