Emirates to launch daily flights between Dubai and Israel

  • November 23, 2021

Emirates, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will launch daily flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv in December, the airline announced on Thursday.

Emirates is one of the largest airlines in the world, with 151 Boeing 777 planes. It is the fifth airline from the Persian Gulf to conduct regular flights between Israel and the UAE, preceded by Etihad Airways, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Flydubai, and Bahrain’s Gulf Air.

The flights to and from Israel will use 777-300ER aircraft. The daily flight from Dubai will take off at 2:50 P.M. and land at Ben-Gurion International Airport at 4:45 P.M. local time. The return flight will leave Israel at 6:25 P.M. and land in Dubai at 11:25 P.M. local time.

“With the start of services in just a few weeks, Emirates will provide more options for travelers to fly better to and from Tel Aviv via Dubai,” Adnan Kazim, the chief commercial officer of Emirates, said in a statement. “We also look forward to welcoming more business and leisure travelers from Israel to Dubai, and onwards to other destinations on Emirates’ network.”

Emirates SkyCargo, a cargo airline also based in Dubai, will use the aircraft holds for cargo and will offer 20 tons of cargo capacity in each direction.

Last month, Israel reached an agreement with the UAE to allow Israelis to enter one of the seven emirates that make up the country without a visa for purposes of business or tourism. But Israelis will still need a visa to study, work, volunteer there or for religious reasons.

Emirates announced a year ago of its plans to operate a daily flight between the two countries, but the coronavirus pandemic sidelined those plans.
